Handcount
Stock counts, done on the phones you already have
A stocktake usually means exporting the catalog to a spreadsheet, writing numbers on paper, and typing them back in. Every one of those steps is a chance for the figures to drift from the shelf. Handcount removes them: create a count in your admin, share the link, and anyone counts from a browser.

What it does
Counting happens in a phone browser — nothing to install, and no Shopify account for the people doing it
Counting on a phone, with the running total
Several people count one location at once, each seeing the others' running totals
The camera, for a shelf with no scanner at hand
Works with no signal: the catalog is downloaded to the device, and scans sync when the connection returns
Offline — scans queue on the device until the signal returns
- Anything that sold mid-count is reported as a discrepancy, never silently overwritten — and any apply can be undone
A look inside
Click any screen to open it larger
Every count in the shop, and where each one got to
Open, applied, cancelled — each row carries what it covered and how far it got. An applied count keeps its unresolved conflicts on the row, so nothing still needing a decision goes quiet.
Creating a count: one location, and what to do with whatever nobody scanned
Pick a location, then settle the one question that matters: leave uncounted items alone, or treat anything unscanned as out of stock. A count can be narrowed to a single vendor or product type, and it hands you a link and a QR code to share.
Stock that moved mid-count, held back for you to decide on
A quantity is written only where Shopify still holds the value the count began from. Anything sold or moved in between is listed here rather than overwritten — re-apply it, count it again, or undo the whole apply.

Questions merchants ask
Do the people counting need a Shopify account?
No. You create a count in your admin and share a link. Whoever opens it counts in an ordinary phone browser — nothing to install, no account to issue, no seat to pay for. The link is the permission, so treat it the way you would a key to the stockroom.
Can several people count at the same time?
Yes, and it is the point. Everyone who opens the link counts into the same session and sees the others' running totals as they go. Two people scanning the same shelf will double it — the app counts units, not people — so split the room, not the list.
Do I need a barcode scanner?
No. The phone's camera reads barcodes, and anything with a SKU can be typed into the same field. A Bluetooth scanner pairs as a keyboard and needs no setup at all if you have one.
What happens if there is no signal in the stockroom?
The catalogue is downloaded to the phone when the count opens, and scans are held on the device until the connection returns. A cold store or a basement counts exactly like the sales floor; the phone shows when it is behind and when it has caught up.
